About Gen Ramen

Ramen Restaurant

Located at 2330 Bale St #112, Raleigh, NC 27608, Gen Ramen operates as a ramen serving Raleigh in North Carolina. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Raleigh, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across North Carolina run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 am–9 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (919) 720-4058. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, instagram.com.

Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Google across 472 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded ramen in Raleigh.

Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Raleigh is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Overall Score: 5.8/10 This spot was interesting, but it never really felt like it had a strong identity as a ramen restaurant. There were small touches of Japanese and ramen-themed decor, but the open layout and TVs gave it more of a casual bar vibe than a cozy ramen shop. The staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and service was good. The menu was also a little disappointing, with only a single page of non-ramen options. Ramen 5.9/10 It was good, mostly because it’s ramen. The noodles were cooked well, and the broth had good flavor. I ordered a basic bowl, so there wasn’t much that stood out, but there also wasn’t much to complain about. Gyoza 5.7/10 Very average and nothing memorable. It tasted like a standard frozen gyoza that could easily be made at home.

Came out to lunch here on invitation from my friend. I didn’t expect to find halal option but was pleasantly surprised when I asked and they confirmed that their chicken ramen was halal! Oh boy was that a treat! I had the chicken curry and the broth alone was marvelous. It was rich, and thick and the hot spice option gave it a nice kick ( nothing too crazy). I would definitely be coming back! I do wish they made it more clear that they had halal option, I know they’ll be opening up to that section of client for their business. Either way, just confirm whenever you go that their chicken ramen is halal or other halal options. (Not sure if that was a one time thing or if it is a staple on their menu)

Stopped by Gen Ramen and it did not disappoint! 🍜 The ramen was super flavorful and the portions were great. The broth tasted fresh and the noodles had the perfect texture. Our server Alex & the staff were friendly and helpful and the vibe outside was relaxed and welcoming. Sweet tea was fresh and very delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back!
